A Farewell Message from Sue Peck
After nearly 40 years of conference organising, I am now retiring from the full time position of conference manager for SP Conference Management and Emma Genet will be taking over as the key contact person for all conferences.
I am looking forward to my gradual retirement plan and will certainly miss the many people I have had contact with over years of conferencing.

SP Conferences has a New Owner
Emma Genet started her hospitality career in Melbourne. She spent 8 years residing in Melbourne and was fortunate to gain invaluable experience within the events industry during this time. She worked as a venue & events manager across Victoria for several hospitality venues during her first 5 years in Australia. She then moved to a role as an events coordinator within a successful event management & events catering business.
"Throughout my years in this role I coordinated countless weddings from start to finish."
During the global pandemic in 2020, she relocated home to New Zealand and gained employment as the Operations Manager for a large, events-based catering company. She has had the absolute privilege to work on a wide range of events during her 4+ years in this role, including overseeing all catering aspects of the largest event/s within the Manawatū each year, a few events that she considered highlights:
  • The Local Government NZ conference & awards dinner
  • The NZ Food Awards
  • E Tipu: The Boma Agri Summit
  • The NZ Events Association conference & awards dinner
  • The annual ENZED Super-stock Teams Champs
  • Davis Cup: World Cup of Tennis
  • Super Rugby matches
Emma says,
"My background in venue management, event coordination, and large-scale catering operations has equipped me with a deep understanding of client needs and the ability to create innovative solutions. With a passion for building strong relationships, I am excited to contribute to the continued success of SP Conference Management by delivering impeccable service and exceeding client expectations."

Emma has been working part time with Sue at SP Conferences for the past few years and thoroughly looking forward to being onboard in a much larger capacity from 2025. Emma will be the new owner of SP Conference Management in 2025 and Sue Peck will assist part time where required.

​Sue Peck has organised conferences for the New Zealand Dermatological Society for many years and more recently, has also acted as our administrator.  With Sue’s help, everything has been perfect, and our conferences have run flawlessly and seamlessly.  She has relieved us of a considerable administrative burden now that she is helping our society with this work.
